Nook or Kindle Fire: Which is the best?
Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire are two 7-inch Android tablets respectively from two leading online vendors Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Amazon is the first firm to announce a tablet version of its popular Kindle eReader. There had been long rumors over the tablet from Amazon, however. The device was touted as an Apple iPad killer by analysts. The company finally rolled out Kindle Fire on November 15. In response to Kindle Fire, Barnes & Noble immediately announced Nook Tablet and the company unveiled the tablet on the very next day after Kindle Fire’s official release. Both the Android 2.3 Gingerbread tablets are to fight each other for domination in the new 7-inch tablet market.
Special features of Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet
There are many special things that make Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet different from the mainstream tablets like Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab. Fire and Nook are not full-fledged tablets, indeed. They are just multimedia versions of eReaders from the companies. In other words, they are the tablets that you can use only to read contents in color, watch films and listen to music. Both tablets come with multi-touch input capabilities and are great to read contents, surf web and others. However, unlike the typical tablets, they are without any cameras, meaning that you won’t be able to take images and video-chat with friends using the tablets.
Which is the best and why?
Of course, there will be a best one in two similar products. In case of Amazon Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet, without any doubt, Kindle Fire is the best tablet. It is because Amazon sells the tablet for just $199, while Nook tablet is priced at $249. However, there is no new feature in the tablet from Barnes & Noble to make it special from Kindle Fire. Both Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire are equipped with similar features. They have almost similar tech specs, features and compatibilities.
Even content support is concerned both Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire have almost identical features. Both devices support leading on-demand video services such as Netflix, Pandora and Hulu Plus. As well, the tablets have native applications for web browsing, eReading and so on. Even though Kindle Fire is priced $50 lower than Nook Tablet. Customers always admire a product that has a low price.
To top it all, Kindle Fire boasts of Amazon’s huge content store. From just being a book vendor, Amazon has turned into a mammoth vendor of digital contents also. So users of Kindle Fire will not feel any dearth of contents. Of course, Nook Tablet also has heaps of contents on Barnes & Noble store. But it does not come that much that it can raise any threat to Amazon store.
