The Importance of Email Security
Spam and malware are on the rise and are mainly transferred through email. Why is that? Well, many people do not have any kind of email security software. You may think, I use Gmail so that’s all the security I need. Guess what? Gmail is not as secure as you may think and is quite capable of sending you spam and malware.
Of course, there are other precautionary measures that you can take in order to combat spam. For one, you shouldn’t give your email out to just everyone and use it to sign up on every form or mailing list. Some people create an email account just for the purpose of signing upon social networks, subscribing to newsletters, etc. This is smart because you can keep your personal email clean and have all the accompanying spam (that some newsletters send) to your other email.
You really never know what some of those sites do with your email. So if you leave the personal email account for special people (family and friends) you can be pretty sure that it won’t get into the wrong hands.
When on the Internet you have to be mindful of hackers and spammers and what they can do to you; they can ruin your life. This is why security is so important, especially in email. I’d rather be safe than sorry as I’m sure you would be too.
If you own a website, you have to be double careful of hackers. It can be very hard to gain back control of a hacked website and is often a long process. Be sure to have a dedicated server to ensure your website’s safety. Dedicated servers can provide you with top-notch security and 100% (or close to it) uptime.
What security measures do you perform on the Internet?
