Three Crucial Windows Phone 7 Apps

Windows Phone 7 has fully entered the smartphone market. Microsoft’s mobile operating system features a number of innovative features, and a number of apps on the Windows Phone Marketplace are taking its capabilities even further. These include Social Lookout, Polyglot, and Dropbox.

Windows Phone 7 is a stark departure from earlier mobile Windows environments. Instead of presenting a shrunken-down Windows environment, it uses an interface codenamed Metro, which was designed especially with the mobile user in mind. The home screen is composed of “Live Tiles,” which link to applications and features. However, Live Tiles do not need to be clicked on to be useful. They can update in real-time to show information that may be useful to the user without forcing the user to start-up the entire program. Windows Phone 7

For example, an e-mail program can display the number of unread messages in its inbox. A social media app might show the latest post in the user’s news feed, and a weather app could give a condensed summary of the current weather in the Live Tile itself. Windows Phone 7 also includes multi-touch support and a virtual keyboard. It also features a version of Xbox Live for game-related socialization and management, and a Mobile Office Suite comprising portable version of many Microsoft Office applications.

Dropbox

Many apps are available on the Windows Phone Marketplace. One of the best apps is the Windows Phone version of Dropbox. This application already allows PCs and Macs to transfer files easily using Dropbox-enabled folders that behave just like normal OS directory folders. When the user adds a file to a Dropbox folder, the files are transferred to all other accounts sharing that folder. This makes syncing data between computers extremely easy. Now Dropbox can be used to transfer files to and from any Windows Phone 7 device.

Social Lookout

Social Lookout is an app that enables a different way to look at social media. Through Social Lookout, websites like Facebook and Twitter can be browsed by topic instead of by user. This can help users find new conversations about their interests. It also represents a valuable resource for businesses to keep track of public discussion of their brand and topics and allow them to analyze how they can take advantage of trending topics to promote themselves. Users of Social Lookout can follow a topic simply by entering a keyword in the “add topic” menu option.

Polyglot

The translator built-in to Windows Phone 7 only translates five languages. The app Polyglot supports 30 different languages. It is intended to be easy to integrate with day-to-day texting and e-mailing. It also allows the user to play back a computer speech version of the text they have translated.

Dropbox, Polyglot, and Social Lookout all extend the functionality of Windows Phone 7 in ways many users find crucial. They represent some of the best software the Windows Phone Marketplace has to offer.

You shouldn’t be paying for any insurance quotes online as these services do not cost the company anything. If you find a company offering quotes at a price online then you should investigate thoroughly and find out if they are indeed a reputable company or just move on to find another website that will give you some free quotes. With that said though, you don’t have to do a lot of searching to find a website that offers free quotes as the majority of them do as they realize the need for consumers to have good insurance while not paying too much out of their pockets especially since times are so hard.
