When it comes to web hosting, there are a lot of terms thrown around regarding the different types that you can have. Growing more and more in popular seems to be the term, “hosting in the cloud (or cloud hosting).” Well, what about Cloud VPS? What’s that all about? From my research, I’ve found that when it comes to Cloud VPS vs regular hosting, Cloud VPS is more flexible and gives you more control.

That is a mouth full, but you get the idea. He also says that comparing standalone VPS to Cloud VPS is like comparing a used 1999 Ford Escort to a 2010 Mercedes CL600! In other words, Cloud VPS is that much better and more dependable than just standalone VPS.

Now with VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting, the server is broken up into multiple segments or divisions where each one can act as a virtual dedicated server. Each VPS can also run it’s own OS (operating system) as well as has its own bandwidth and disk space. So, there is no sharing which of course means faster, more dedicated service for you.

Add that to “the cloud” and you have hosting that is not just self-serviced, but can be controlled via a web interface or API. Sounds like good stuff to me!

So, if you’re looking for affordability, flexibility, reliability, simplicity and total control, then Cloud VPS is a very good option.
