Lately, it seems like everyone is a Twitter addict. So, I decided to make a list of Twitter related sites, desktop & mobile applications & browser extensions. If you don’t already have an account on Twitter, I suggest you get one ASAP since it seems to be taking over the Web.

Of course, since many Twitter related sites & applications are popping up on a daily basis, this list will probably be outdated by tomorrow night! So, obviously I couldn’t get every single site/app/extension on this list, but It’s a good start.

For those who don’t know, Twitter is a “social networking and microblogging service utilizing instant messaging, SMS or a web interface.”

I spent about 5 days researching & creating this list so, I hope you all can make great use of it! If you see something I left out & you feel it should be on this list, please leave it in a comment (I left out blog plugins on purpose).

Firefox Addons

TwitterFox - A Firefox extension that notifies you of your friends’ tweets; has a small text input field to update your tweets.
TwitterLights - Highlight internet snippets & Twitter them.
Twitter Line - Display your friends’ Twitter timeline on your browser tool bar; you can also update your tweets & reply to your friends’ tweets.
Twitter Toolbox - A Twitter sidebar for Firefox.
Twitturl - A Firefox extension that allows you to post the current URL to Twitter with one click.
TwittyTunes - A FoxyTunes companion Firefox extension; allows you to post your currently playing song to Twitter; you can also post the websites you’re visiting, videos you’re watching and more.
Twitzer - A Firefox extension that lets you post text longer than 140 characters to Twitter; converts tinyurl links to actual links so that you are sure what link will open.
