Ping.fm is a great tool because it allows you to post status updates, blog posts or micro-blog posts to all of your sites at one time & they’re constantly adding new sites. Learn more.

In their own words:

“Ping.fm was created for the sole purpose of making it as easy as possible to share your posts with the world. Now you don’t have to fumble around the web in order to post anymore, you can just post once, and be done with it. “

Of course there are competitors like Hellotxt, Sensible & MessageDance, just to name a few. Some people like Hellotxt better, but most prefer Ping.fm; as you’ll see, Ping.fm is definitely the way to go.

Ping.fm is a great tool for marketing yourself and/or your website(s) & blog(s). For that fact alone, if you haven’t already, you really need to go sign up right now.

Ping.fm has you in mind; so much that they’ve created numerous ways for you to utilize & benefit from their service. This, of course, gives you an even easier way to being everyone in social media at one time.

So, here’s 16 ways to use/post from your Ping.fm account:

  • From the Lifestream tab on you Profilactic account.
  • From your Socialthing! account (by clicking on Post).
  • From your Facebook profile using this Facebook application.
  • From Spaz. Please note: Ping.fm support requires edits to the preferences.json file. Needed to work: add to the services-pingfm-userappkey and enable services-pingfm-enabled.
  • From your WordPress blog using this WordPress plugin. You can link Ping.fm to your blog so that every time you publish a new post, it will automatically be sent to all of your social networks.
  • From your email; if your wireless provider supports SMS to email, that will also work.
  • From AIM, GTalk, YIM & Windows Live (by adding the Ping.fm bot to your friends list).
  • From ceTwit, a recently added feature.
  • From your Mac widget dashboard.
  • From Launchy.
  • From your iGoogle dashboard.
  • From the Ping.fm mobile version. Point your mobile browser to “m.ping.fm” to start posting immediately. For iPhone and iPod Touch users, point your browser to “i.ping.fm“.
  • From a Feedburner feedflare simply by adding a special code where appropriate, in your Feedburner account.
  • From the SocialAddict Adobe Air application.
  • From the Ping.fm desktop application.
  • From a tab in FriendFeed, added using a Greasemonkey script.

If you know of any other ways not listed, feel free to leave it in a comment. I’m sure there’s more & will be a lot more coming in the future.

Are you a Ping.fm member or do you use another site like Hellotxt? If you are a Ping.fm member, which method of posting do you like best? Which do you use most? Personally, I find it easiest to post from YIM or GTalk.

I have been searching extremely hard to find a way to post to Ping.fm via a URL. Ideally I would be able to create a bookmark in Firefox and use their keyword feature to easily post from my location bar “ping Just woke up.” for example.

Does something like this exist? Like a http://ping.fm/post.php?key=24sdg90ahg249g0h?post=%s?
